He’s now cleared to resume practicing after opening camp on PUP and missing Saturday’s camp opener.A second-year player out of Western Michigan, Phillips was drafted in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He was considered a ballhawk slot defender and a dynamic returner on special teams. As a rookie for the Bengals, Phillips was active in 15 games with one start Trey Hopkins Jersey , but he primarily played on special teams. He recorded 22 tackles, one forced fumble and one pass defense while returning two punts for 24 yards.Phillips is facing an uphill climb to earn playing time this season with William Jackson, Dre Kirkpatrick, Darqueze Dennard and B.W. Webb having their roster spots secured. There’s no guarantee Phillips even makes the final roster with guys like KeiVarae Russell Cordy Glenn Jersey , Tony McRae, Devontae Harris and Jordan Brown vying for spots as well. The Bengals added 10 undrafted rookies to their 90-man roster ahead of Friday’s start to their rookie minicamp.Among the group is safety Tyree Kinnel, who went from special teams standout to defensive starter over the course of his time at Michigan.
