I can’t help but wonder: “Will the Eagles select one of these players?” It’s just nice to see Philly’s first-round pick holding their new Eagles jersey up on stage ... as opposed to merely viewing a highlights package presented by the TV broadcast. The last two Eagles first-round selections to physically attend the NFL Draft were Carson Wentz and Derek Barnett. Philly was picking much higher in those years (No. 2 and No. 14, respectively) than they are this year.With that in mind, a number of these players won’t be on the board by the time the Eagles pick. It feels like the Eagles — who currently have about $25 million in cap space — could’ve made an offer that trumped Coleman’s familiarity with Shanahan. Especially if Duce had him as his top running back! So, what happened? Did Howie Roseman simply fall asleep at the wheel?I don’t think that’s the case.
