DENVER - Eddie Butler waited three months for his second big league start. Miles Sanders Eagles Jersey . He made sure it was worth it. Butler pitched six solid innings for his first major league win and the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 on Saturday. Butler (1-1) made his debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 6 and went on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation the next day. He made nine minor league rehab starts before getting the ball Saturday. "I wasnt quite as anxious. Definitely a good outing," Butler said. "Go six innings and give the team a chance to win." He made the most of his second start, allowing one run and five hits and giving the Rockies a glimpse into the future. Butler was Colorados first-round pick in 2012 and has quickly moved through the organization. He allowed six runs and 10 hits in 5 1-3 innings against L.A., but held Arizona in check before leaving for a pinch hitter. "Good start for Eddie. Nice bounce back," manager Walt Weiss said. "One start, missing a lot of time, going out there today and put us in a position to win a game." Corey Dickerson and Josh Rutledge homered for the Rockies, who have won five straight for the first time since June 11-15. Jake Lamb homered for the reeling Diamondbacks. Arizona has dropped five in a row and 12 of 15 to fall into last place in the NL West, two games behind Colorado. "We were 0 for 11 today, so thats 1 for 20 the last two days with runners in scoring position," Arizona manager Kirk Gibson said. "Were really struggling in that respect." Trevor Cahill (3-12) allowed five runs and 10 hits in five innings. He hasnt won since beating Miami on Aug. 15. Dickerson gave Colorado a 1-0 lead with an RBI triple in the second. The Rockies extended the lead to 4-0 in the third on Rutledges two-run homer and Ben Paulsens RBI single. "I was trying to steal a strike," Cahill said of Rutledges home run. "I didnt think it was that bad of a pitch. He put a good swing on it." Lamb homered on a line drive to right in the fifth to make it 4-1, but Dickerson answered with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the inning. It was his 24th of the season. Dickerson was halfway to a cycle, but he said it wasnt on his mind. "No, because I didnt think Id get two more at-bats," he said. Butlers only lament was two at-bats against David Peralta — a leadoff walk in the fourth and a leadoff single in the sixth. "I was a little disappointed in myself I went 3-0 on two guys after we scored a run," Butler said. "You really need that shutdown inning. Thats something I need to work on." Reliever Oliver Perez recorded four strikeouts in the seventh inning after Justin Morneau reached on a wild pitch to start the inning. He is the first pitcher in Diamondbacks history to strike out four in one inning. GRAND FINALE Rockies RHP LaTroy Hawkins made his 997th appearance Saturday. Weiss said before the game he will make sure his closer hits 1,000 before the end of the season. "Thats a safe bet," he said. "Hell get to a thousand." GOOD START Diamondbacks LF Ender Inciarte, who singled to start the game, has led off eight of the past nine games with a hit — five singles and three doubles. GOING DEEP The Rockies have homered in 21 straight home games. Its the longest such streak since a franchise-best 32 games from April 19-July 3, 1999. TRAINERS ROOM Diamondbacks: Peralta was back in the lineup for the first time since Sept. 5. He had been sidelined with a lower back strain and pinch hit Friday night. Rockies: OF Carlos Gonzalez shed his crutches this week, but is still walking carefully following surgery on his left knee Aug. 19. Gonzalez hopes to be at full strength when the team reports to spring training in February. UP NEXT Diamondbacks: LHP Wade Miley (8-11) will try to reach 200 innings when he starts Sunday. He is eight innings shy of reaching the total for the second straight season. He also needs 11 strikeouts to reach 500 for his career. Rockies: Rookie RHP Christian Bergman (2-4) no-hit Arizona for 4 2-3 innings on Aug. 29 in his only other start against the Diamondbacks. Nick Foles Youth Jersey . The Red Wings hadnt played the night before. The Boston Bruins had. A month from now, or two months from now, it doesnt matter. But right now it does matter, when you start and you play back to back, its wear and tear on you for sure, Babcock said. DeSean Jackson Youth Jersey . Raonic, the No. 8 seed from Thornhill, Ont., fired 11 aces and did not have a double-fault as he comfortably advanced to the third round at the Masters Series event. https://www.eaglessportsgoods.com/Womens-Clayton-Thorson-Inverted-Jersey/ . 5 Trade Deadline is drawing closer and teams will be deciding on whether to buy or sell.TAMPA, Fla. - A bad season got a little more miserable for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.Two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Gerald McCoy will finish the year on injured reserve, missing the Buccaneers final two games because of a sprained right knee.Of course you want to finish the games with your guys, but you have to look at the bigger picture, and thats my overall health, the fifth-year pro said after walking into a mostly empty locker room and motioning for reporters to follow him to a stall on the back wall.I think we have a lot of great — not good, great — ahead of us for this team, this organization, McCoy added. A big part of that will be my health. Its the third time since McCoy entered the NFL as the third overall pick in the 2010 draft that an injury has ended his season prematurely. He started all 16 games each of the past two seasons, making the Pro Bowl and setting himself up to become the leagues highest-paid player at his position in October, when he signed a seven-year extension worth up to $98 million. The deal boosted his salary to $20 million this season, when he continued to perform at a high level with 8 1-2 sacks — despite Tampa Bays NFC-worst 2-12 record.Hes done everything weve asked him to do, coach Lovie Smith said, adding that rookie tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins and veteran receiver Louis Murphy will join McCoy on injured reserve this week before the Bucs face the Green Bay Packers. Great player. Face of the franchise for a reason. The future is so bright.Weve been through a lot. Weve been down here together, Smith added, ussing his hands to illustrate Tampa Bays position in the standings. Carson Wentz Youth Jersey. Its going to be fun rising up together with him. We will rise up based on guys like him.McCoy said the knee injury he suffered Sunday against Carolina was unrelated to one he played through the week before against Detroit. He remained down on the ground for a few minutes before being helped to his feet and refusing to leave the field on a cart.I wasnt about to get carted off and give thumbs up, McCoy said. Im OK. I can walk. If my leg didnt come off, Im walking off the field.Smith is closing in on the end of his first season of trying to turn around a franchise that will miss the playoffs for the seventh consecutive year. The Bucs havent won a post-season game since their 2002 Super Bowl. But McCoy, a team captain, has been everything Smith envisioned hed be. He was a great player on tape. When you get to see him up close and personal, and see how he is when you get to game day, its more impressive, the coach said. Thats how you want superstars to be — like him. To put in the time like him, and deserve to play, and be a great player like that.Seferian-Jenkins started nine games, but has been sidelined the past three weeks with a sore back. He finished with 21 receptions for 221 yards and two touchdowns.Murphy was cut during preseason, rejoined the team in Week 4 and finished with 31 receptions for 380 yards and two touchdowns. He has a high-ankle sprain.None of the players is expected to need surgery.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP_NFL ' ' '
